How Does the Setup and Painting Process Work for Live Wedding Painting?

On your wedding day:

  1. I arrive 1-2 hours before the event to set up my easel and materials.

  2. I start sketching the background and key details before guests arrive.

  3. As the special moment happens (e.g., first dance, ceremony), I capture it on canvas in real time.

  4. Throughout the event, guests can watch the painting evolve. Many enjoy interacting and asking questions!

  5. By the end of the night, the painting is about 75% complete, with the final details added in the studio.

Is the Painting Finished by the End of the Wedding?

The painting is mostly finished by the end of your wedding (around 75% complete). After the event, I take the painting back to my studio to refine the details, add depth, and bring it to its final polished beauty. Your completed masterpiece is ready in 2-4 weeks and will be safely delivered to you.

Can Guests Participate in the Painting?

Yes! I offer interactive and collaborative painting experiences where guests can add their own brushstrokes to the artwork under my guidance. This makes the final piece even more special and personal.

Do You Offer Live Guest Watercolor Portraits?

Yes! I can create quick, elegant watercolor portraits for your guests as unique keepsakes. Each portrait takes about 5-10 minutes per guest and makes for a wonderful, interactive wedding favor.

How Long Does a Live Wedding Painting Take?

I paint throughout the entire event (typically 8 hours), capturing the essence of the moment on canvas. By the end of the event, the painting is about 80% complete. However, I have a high standard for detail and artistry, so I dedicate many additional hours in my studio refining the details, enhancing textures, and bringing out depth and luminosity.

Your final artwork will be ready within 6-8 weeks, ensuring a beautifully detailed, timeless keepsake.

Can I Choose the Scene for My Live Wedding Painting?

Of course! You can decide whether you’d like:

How Far in Advance Should I Book a Live Wedding Painter?

Live wedding painting is in high demand, and I book up quickly! I recommend booking at least 3-6 months in advance, especially for peak wedding seasons. However, last-minute bookings may be possible depending on availability.

Do You Travel for Destination Weddings?

Yes! I am based in Los Angeles but travel for destination weddings and events. Travel fees apply for weddings outside of the LA area.

How Much Does Live Wedding Painting Cost?
